The so-called ‘single authentication’ refers to the consular authentication by the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China or its authorized local foreign affairs office, which is required for foreign-related notarization certificates or other certification documents issued by relevant institutions in mainland China before they are used abroad. Once the consular authentication is completed, the document can be accepted by the country where it is to be used.
